Evening dress
Variant: Leia ceremonial style evening dress
Debut: August 2014
Dress
The A line gown consists of two layers: teal cotton duchesse satin for the sleeveless underdress and embroidered tulle for the overdress. The dress is completely lined with teal taffeta. The embroidered tulle is used as outer layer on the skirt, the back of the bodice and the front bodice/sleeve piece. In contrast to Leia’s ceremonial gown, the skirt part is slit in front. The bodice has vertical bust darts for a better fit and an inverse V-shaped empire waist. The dress has V-shaped belt which is made of a vintage sari trim and decorated with an Art Deco brooch. The gown has a U-shaped neckline, a small train and closes in the back with an invisible zipper. The front bodice overlay and wing-like sleeves are made from one big piece of embroidered without any seams or darts.
